CcHUB announces “Let’s Build Africa” – a program for growth-stage African startups to expand across the continent.
Today, May 25, 2024, is designated as Africa Day. On this day in 1963, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) was established to commemorate Africa’s independence and freedom from colonial imperialists. In 2002, the OAU was replaced by the African Union which continues to promote unity among the African people and socioeconomic freedom from foreign exploitation.
CcHUB, which incidentally is the leading African tech ecosystem builder with hubs in Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya and Namibia, has chosen this day to launch “Let’s Build, Africa”.

With ‘Let’s Build, Africa’ startups will be empowered with the tools and connections needed to thrive across Africa. We believe that by facilitating cross-border growth, we can significantly contribute to Africa’s economic integration and innovation landscape”, says Ojoma Ochai, Managing Director of CcHUB Africa, in a statement seen by Bendada.com.
An expansion program for African startups is a welcome development, as many look across borders to shore up the effect of their currency devaluation and poor macroeconomic situation in their home country.
“‘Let’s Build, Africa’ is a strategic initiative aimed at supporting startups that are poised for cross-border growth but require strategic insights and support to navigate new ecosystems. CcHUB is committed to fostering economic integration and innovation across the continent,” reads the statement.
More Details on the Let’s Build Africa Programme
Three criteria need to be met to be eligible for CcHUB’s Let’s Build. First, the prospective startup must be registered in an African country. Second, at least one of the founders must be an African national and finally, the startup should be at scale-up stage and ready for market expansion.

The programme includes a call for applications which runs from now till June 30, pitch sessions for selected startups, ecosystem tours across all the markets where CcHUB is present, and product showcases to an audience of investors, collaborators and potential customers. Over six months, the participating startups will receive ongoing support from CcHUB that will help strengthen market linkages.
“By the end of the program, startups will have made substantial progress in entering new markets, forging valuable partnerships, and setting themselves up for investment and growth. This development will have a significant impact on fostering intra-African trade and collaboration within Africa, thereby driving economic growth and fostering innovation across the continent,” concludes the statement.
