Lagos state partners with Huawei to deploy four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across key locations, aiming to enhance traffic management and road safety.
The new ITS sites aim to streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion using advanced monitoring and AI-powered traffic solutions. The initiative will enhance road safety for commuters and pedestrians by deploying Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices.
- This initiative aligns with Lagos’ smart city ambitions, leveraging advanced technology to improve urban mobility and ease congestion.
The deployment of these ITS sites is expected to significantly impact daily commuters by providing real-time traffic information, enabling better route planning, and reducing travel times.
Logistics companies will benefit from more predictable transit schedules, leading to increased efficiency and cost savings. Businesses can anticipate improved punctuality in deliveries and employee commutes, contributing to enhanced productivity.
Huawei’s involvement in this project is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s technology and infrastructure sectors.
