What’s your favourite travel destination in Africa and why?

For now, Ethiopia. Let me go with Mauritius. I’ve never been there, but it’s my dream to be there. The nature around it, the beauty, the greens, the ocean. I like being by the ocean side, and the beaches.

What hobby do you enjoy in your free time and how does it help you relax?

I think I enjoy music. I’ve replaced football with music, but I’ll add that music while taking a walk. Because it helps me relax my mind, I’m able to reflect on what I’ve done, I’m able to recall things I need to do, I’m able to get a deeper life on a certain level. I’m not really a book person. I enjoy music and taking a walk.

What’s the best you’ve read recently and how has it impacted your life?

The recent book I’ve read is “We Don’t Just Become by Felix Banda”. How has it impacted my life? I think it gives a different story around one of the great writers we had in Zambia. He talks about a life of bravery, coming from just being a teacher, becoming one of the greatest motivational speakers we have ever had in the time of setting up that foundation for more information.

If you could have dinner with any African historical figure, who would it be and why?

Quickfire Questions with Arnold Nyendwa, CEO of AFNON

Can I pick two? Both of them are Nigerians. The first one I’ll go for is Aliko Dangote. I think it’s my inspiration and I look up to him so much for what he has done for the continent. I think he’s the greatest entrepreneur I’ve ever seen.

Second person, Davido. I like how he’s pushed his African music, how they have pushed African culture with his beliefs, but I just like his spirit. It’s not easy to come from a rich family but also just to pursue something with that passion and I also love the sound, and how he’s promoting his work. I think I’ll go for those things.

What’s one thing you can’t travel without and why is it so essential to you?

Water. I love taking water so I can’t do without water.
