Nigerian fintech unicorn, Moniepoint, debuts on TIME100 most influential companies list for 2025, a significant milestone. This recognition underscores the company’s profound impact in advancing financial inclusion and empowering small businesses across Africa, marking a historic moment for the Nigerian fintech scene.

The inclusion on the TIME100 list, now in its fifth year, places Moniepoint among a select group of global enterprises acknowledged by TIME editors for their innovation, ambition, success, and transformative influence.

The list, curated from a rigorous vetting process involving nominations across industries and geographies, highlights businesses charting essential paths forward in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

This latest accolade arrives on the heels of other prominent international recognitions for Moniepoint.

The company has been consistently featured on the Financial Times’ list of Africa’s fastest-growing companies for three consecutive years (2020-2023), a testament to its remarkable revenue growth and expanding footprint.

Additionally, Moniepoint has appeared thrice on CB Insights’ Fintech 100 list, solidifying its position among the world’s most promising private fintech innovators.

Moniepoint’s ascent is fueled by its comprehensive ecosystem of digital banking, credit, payments, and business management tools, processing over 1 billion transactions monthly and serving millions of customers.

The platform has been instrumental in bridging the financial services gap for underserved individuals and informal businesses in Nigeria and across the continent, leveraging its hyper-local distribution network to provide accessible and reliable solutions.

Beyond its strong presence in Nigeria, powering most of the country’s Point of Sale (POS) transactions, Moniepoint has also extended its reach to the African diaspora. Its MonieWorld platform, launched in the UK, offers seamless remittance and digital financial services, further showcasing the company’s innovative approach to global financial inclusion.

“This recognition by TIME is a powerful validation of the work we do every day to create financial happiness for millions of people and businesses in Africa,” said Tosin Eniolorunda, CEO and Co-Founder of Moniepoint. “From enabling over 10 million businesses to accept payments, access working capital, and run their operations digitally, to supporting everyday Africans through innovative financial solutions — we are proud of the role we play in powering dreams while transforming lives and livelihoods.”

Moniepoint joins other notable African fintech players on the list, including Flutterwave and Tyme Group.
