What’s your best travel destination in Africa and why?
I’ve wanted to visit Victoria Falls. We have a lot of falls here in Tanzania. I’ve been to different waterfalls in Tanzania, but every time I go to YouTube and see Victoria Falls, I’m just amazed. I’m a person who loves nature. Also the pyramids in Egypt, I think I should find a way this year and see if I can make that a reality.
Why?
When it comes to Victoria Falls, I think it’s just because it’s very outstanding and I’m a person who loves nature but also there are some things that you just see in nature and you’re like, wow, God, you’re more than a genius. So it provides more of an opportunity to appreciate what God has done for this good continent.
And in terms of Egypt, it’s the pyramids. It’s not only about the greatness of the pyramids, but also the historical value that they carry which is rooted in biblical and other historical findings. So it’s more than exploration. I believe it can be a very eye-opening experience as well.

What hobby do you enjoy in your free time and how does it help you relax?
I’m also a musician, by the way. I love music. I think after God and my family is music. So I really love music. I play drums, play piano, and play guitar. And I sing too.
So most of my free time I might be doing any of that, if not on the drums, maybe piano, if not piano, maybe singing. As for relaxing, I really love going to the beach and with a book, trying to learn more and having a more relaxing moment.
Music and reading and sometimes even perusing on YouTube, learning about different technologies from MKBHD. I really love tech. So if anything new comes out, I’m just up to it on YouTube. And yeah, so that’s what I do.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently and how has it impacted your life?
Currently I’m reading Leaving the Tarmac. It’s from a Nigerian founder of Access Bank. It’s a really nice book. We’ve been hearing a lot of success stories from abroad. It’s easy to find a tech entrepreneur who is inspired by Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and so forth.
But we also have our own unicorns who have made it through harsh conditions or similar conditions in Africa as well. I feel like the book was designed for me because I can relate to the stories, to the experience, to some of the things that he mentions in the book. So, yeah, it has been more relevant than a lot of other books that I’ve read as well.
If you could have dinner with any African historical figure, who would it be and why?
Here in Tanzania there are a lot of impressive stories. There is this chief here in Tanzania who is called Mkwuwa. He was one of the chiefs who really were hard to beat. Like the colonialists were having a really hard time to beat his tactics. So he was a very tactical person.
So I really want a session with him to see the courage. Like you guys had spears, had arrows, but you could stand and be creative enough to outsmart the whites with their guns and everything. It’s an interesting story. Go try to learn about him.

What’s one thing you can’t travel without and why is it so essential to you?
My phone because I love creating memories. I told myself that when I retire, I’ll become a videographer or photographer. I love capturing moments and my phone is a tool of information. As I travel, I want to communicate with the people I love but also you can learn and explore a lot of things with the same phone. I can’t travel without a phone.
